NEXT EVENT: March 15-18, 2012

Who Should Attend?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?

The Encounter is designed for those who crave a clear purpose for their lives. Participants come from all different backgrounds, yet all have a common desire to live more meaningful and engaged lives. Whether you’re rich and successful, struggling in your marriage, young and immature, or a leader of an organization, we can all come together in our desire to grow into who God has created us to be. Click below on the description that best fits where you are in life and why The Encounter may be for you.

I am a professional

With the widely publicized scandals of companies like Enron and the frequent exposure of unethical behaviors by executives, there has never been a time when integrity and authenticity were more valued in the workplace. Gone is the divide between the secular, professional life and spiritual and moral values. The Encounter is an opportunity to become more authentic, true to your word, and clear about your vision. It is a time to realign your personal and your professional lives.

I am a christian leader

Many Christian leaders experience a divide between their congregants and themselves. While it is not necessarily of their own doing, they are put on a pedestal as being more righteous and “having it all together.” This may create loneliness and isolation instead of the community and intimacy that God desires for you. The Encounter is an opportunity for you to break through to others and experience the intimacy and common ground you share with the body of believers. In addition, you will gain valuable tools and perspectives that will help you make a difference with those around you in a more powerful way.

I am not a christian

And I may not be interested in becoming one. Is there anything for me to gain from The Encounter? Certainly yes! The Encounter is not about certain doctrines or creeds. Although the environment of the training is biblically-based, there is still much that we can all learn from one another whether you are of another faith (or no particular faith at all). The only common value a non-christian would need to hold is that love is important. With that, all participants can discover together how to love others more powerfully.

I am struggling in my life

When it comes to struggles, we all experience many different levels. There’s the “I can’t get out of bed” struggle, the “My marriage is falling apart” struggle, the “I want to lose weight” struggle, the “I don’t understand my children” struggle, or the “I’m close to bankruptcy” struggle…just to name a few. The problem is that we (especially men) typically wait until our struggles are extreme before we reach out for help or go to an event like The Encounter. One of the disciplines in life is to strive to grow and change before we reach extreme desperation. If you're struggling or feel that you're just getting by, the Encounter may be just what you need to overcome the issues that have been holding you back from experiencing an abundant life.

I am enjoying my life right now

In the times when everything seems to be going our way and when life is good, we risk becoming complacent. The Encounter can use this “smooth-sailing” time in your life as a launching pad for an advance into an even better future. Rather than simply waiting for life to become more difficult, we can be proactive and seek ways to strengthen the good times until they become unbelievably great times. No matter how much ground you’ve taken in your life, there is always room to grow and The Encounter will challenge and stretch you in fresh ways.
